About Sam Greene
Based in London, I am a climate adaptation researcher, technical advisor, facilitator and consultant with over 10 years of experience supporting action research on climate governance, finance and local level resilience in Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Malawi. This has included the establishment of devolved finance delivery mechanisms for resilience building local investments and the development of participatory climate resilience planning tools to integrate adaptation and development considerations with a gender transformative lens. I am an expert facilitator and conference lead, acting as Programme Director for the Community Based Adaptation conference series for five years - an international conference that creates a platform to amplify the voice of adaptation practitioners on climate adaptation challenges. I also have experience leading high quality qualitative research design and implementation processes, developing innovative and easy to access communications tools and products.

In this role I develop a portfolio of projects researching and establishing the tools and capacities needed for effective climate resilient development at local level. This includes:- Technical advice to governments and NGOs on establishing climate finance delivery mechanisms- Understanding the challenges and opportunities in accessing climate finance from multiple sources- Developing gender transformative tools for climate action planning, applying feminist and intersectional approaches The majority of my research has been applied across East Africa. I am also the Programming Lead for the Community Based Adaptation conference series, the world's leading practitioner focussed international climate adaptation conference. The conference provides a platform for representatives of the vulnerable communities to articulate their priorities for climate action, and to build their capabilities to deliver it.
