• Provided an estimation of the area and volume of steam used for production while mapping out the entirety of the sites steam network in preparation of a heat pump project which is contributing to reducing C&C Groups.
• Used available computer software to create technical drawings of new/updated pipework in the place of older schematics no longer in use.
• Completed technical calculations for required flowrates and surface areas for switching current heat exchangers in place from steam to low temperature hot water.
• Identified areas to isolate and cut off steam network to further reduce the natural gas demand of the site for steam production, which will reduce site operating costs.
• Contributed in discussions with contractors for the design and location of the hot water heat pump system that’s planned to be installed during 2024.
• Worked alongside the site’s Environmental Engineer to identify areas that could contribute further to the company’s decarbonisation
