I provided high level communications advice to senior executives within the Department of Justice and the Minister’s office. This includes developing and implementing effective communication strategies, stakeholder engagement and contract management. I am required to research and prepare briefing material for media and public events and developing responses to media enquiries at short notice. I build and maintain effective professional relationships with ministerial offices, senior executive department staff and other major stakeholders to gain ongoing commitment to campaigns. I demonstrate a professional approach to all aspects of my work, instilling complete trust with those in which I support. I approach my work with diplomacy and tact and am able to deal with issues sensitively exercising my initiative and judgment where required

I provided advice on a wide range of matters relating to the environment. I was responsible for managing a number of stakeholder relationships within government, industry, peak bodies and the community sector. I was involved in the planning and implementation of key strategic policies. During this time I developed strong skills in leading complex negotiations with opposing groups such as environmentalists, farmers and timber workers on issues including water, forestry, biodiversity and land stewardship. This included the management of national parks, indigenous land management, coastlands, zoos, gardens etc. I was also responsible for issues management ensuring that problems were identified and managed quickly and effectively
