As an experienced educational leader, I am passionate about fostering dynamic and engaging learning environments. Currently serving as Head of PSHE and an English teacher, I bring a multifaceted approach to curriculum development, departmental management and pupil engagement for Years 7-11 and prioritise effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders. Head of PSHE: As a nascent department, I have designed and developed a creative and enriched PSHE curriculum, ensuring it remains relevant and inspirational for our pupils. My role involves organising and overseeing curriculum delivery, strategically reviewing and updating our programmes in collaboration with pupils and staff. I support and advise teachers to maintain high-quality lesson delivery and manage staff allocation within the department. Additionally, I organise annual drop-down days featuring inspirational speakers and revise our PSHE and RSE policies annually. Keeping abreast of current PSHE issues, I ensure our curriculum adapts accordingly and that our staff have access to high-quality CPD opportunities actively contributing to the professional development of my colleagues. Furthermore, working closely with the Careers Coordinator, I oversee a bespoke careers programme that includes lessons, workshops, annual work experience and careers interviews. I also work alongside SMT to design and deliver Character Education throughout the Senior School to support pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.English Teacher: In my role as an English teacher, I am dedicated to fostering successful learning relationships and creating a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment. I deliver rigorous and engaging lessons that inspire a love of English and enable all pupils to exceed their learning potential. I coordinate the KS3 curriculum and assist the Head of English with developing KS4 schemes of work to cultivate essential skills and achieve GCSE success. Beyond the classroom, I organise extracurricular trips to enrich pupils' educational experiences and proofread the senior pupils’ reports, alongside the termly school magazine and annual review. With a commitment to continuous improvement, I regularly research and reflect on current educational practices to enhance my own teaching within both PSHE and English and that of my department. Additionally, I ensure that both curriculums are diverse and inclusive and reflect modern society. My goal is to create an inspiring and supportive learning environment that prepares all pupils for success in school and beyond.
