The Goodwin-Niering Center for the Environment is a selective certificate program offered at Connecticut College for students with a passion for the environment. The center meets twice a week and students participate in group discussions and service-learning initiatives. The program culminates to an independent research project or honors thesis that will be presented to the entire school community during each scholar's senior year.

During my time at this surfing school, I wrote a Sustainability Action Plan, facilitated a case study of the Byron Bay branch, and worked on a daily basis to maintain or improve their commitment to environmentalism and sustainability. I also helped with smaller actions like surfboard repairs or other maintenance, as well as getting in the water during lessons or taking photography for their website.

As a head lifeguard at the beach, I am responsible for both the safety of beach patrons and the management and supervision of other lifeguards. Routine responsibilities include monitoring the waterfront, administering first aid, leading swim tests for younger patrons, renting small watercraft to patrons, and coordinating the schedule for my coworkers.

My responsibilities at Northwind Climate include executing market research, compiling and organizing data collected by the company, and preparing background research on existing environmental policies and pressing topics. I am a regular member of weekly company meetings and also work individually with members of the Northwind team.

Lifeguards in the Cape Cod National Seashore must be able to swim 600 yards in under 10 minutes and run 1.5 miles in under 12. Guards undergo a 1-1.5 hour daily workout as well as partaking in drills and life-saving scenarios. Guards are responsible for the safety of patrons by preventing injury or drowning.

My responsibilities included maintaining proper hygiene in dog kennels as well as washing food dishes and blankets. Additionally, I interacted with the animals through outdoor play or walking and aided in prospective adopting family meet-and-greets.

My position included putting plates of food together, delivering food to tables, and keeping the expediting line clean and organized. The restaurant is located on a busy street in a college town, meaning there was constantly work to be done.

My responsibilities included greeting club members, setting up beach chairs and umbrellas, and cleaning the beach as members leave. I worked long shifts in hot weather and spent most of the day on my feet while maintaining a friendly attitude.

I was responsible for administrative duties including managing insurance requirement policies, support for accounts receivable, accounting, and competitive market research.
