Directed and managed all aspects of the Sakura Matsuri - Japanese Street Festival which is the largest celebration of Japanese culture in the United States. Oversaw the Festival Manager responsible for all festival logistics and Festival Assistant responsible for communicating with exhibitors, vendors and took appropriate action to secure their participation.Authored and coordinated all aspects of the Sponsorship Agreements between Sakura Matsuri sponsors and JASWDC. Acted as the main point of contact, facilitating all communications between the sponsoring organizations and JASWDC. Led meetings with potential sponsors to provide information about the benefits of being a Sakura Matsuri sponsor. Also provided information about sponsorship roles and responsibilities, ensuring their needs were met throughout the process included the day of the event.

Collaborated with the Festival Director and Festival Manager from early planning stages through the day of the event to ensure a successful festival. Communicated with potential exhibitors, vendors and performers. Managed all Festival participants through FestivalPro (a festival management platform). Coordinated with the Sakura Matsuri volunteer subcommittees through internal database systems to manage the completion of the Sakura Matsuri contracts.

Greeted and served hundreds of customers daily providing prompt, personalized and friendly service in a fast-paced environment. Was responsible for high-quality food and beverage preparation within a store with a high degree of customer satisfaction. Assisted in the training of new baristas in the creation of store products and the operation of store equipment and technology through the implementation of company standards and procedures.

Assisted in the organization and execution of the S&R Foundation’s 2020 Kingfisher Global Leadership Program in Washington D.C. Was liaison between the Program Manager and various event staff to facilitate scheduled activities where communication with event staff ensured proper setup and maintenance of events was enacted. Also mediated numerous lectures on leadership qualities and work experience given to students.

Accurately screened and analyzed over 4,000 applications, including sensitive information, within a 50-day time frame. Collaborated with a team of 3 Program Coordinators and 8 staff to create best practices for future processing cycles. Adapted to a fast paced and evolving work environment while implementing daily updates to the standard operating procedure. Tracked data on common errors made during applications, allowing the JET Office to better direct their advertising and social media campaigns.

Created daily lesson plans and teaching materials for the English curriculum, taught both individual and group lessons, provided individual mentorship and tutoring to prepare students for entry into regional English speech contests, collaborated with teachers regarding future improvement of the English program, prepared extracurricular activities for student groups such as the English Club, and acted as a cultural ambassador for the United States.Excelled in maneuvering in a non-English speaking, fast pace professional environment that demanded the completion of tasks with short timelines and accuracy to Japanese educational standards and guidelines. Acted as a source of motivation for students to continue English education into their post-high school academic careers.
