Sam is a digital / health policy person working at NHSX - a joint unit between the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England/Improvement.His previous role was Head of Prevention - one of the Health Secretary's priorities. He was the lead author of the Green Paper, Advancing our Health: Prevention in the 2020s, published in July 2019. Before that, he worked in the Department’s Strategy Unit, and as the national lead on housing, health and care. As a former Fast Streamer, he's also worked in Cabinet Office, Public Health England (PHE), and the Ministry of Justice in a variety of different roles. He also sat on the board of a local health inequalities charity in Leeds. Sam has completed an MSc in Health Policy at Imperial College London. He received the Dean’s Prize for his dissertation on pet ownership and health in later life.
