I also undertook an additonal responsibility in supporting the school with the I.T systems and a much needed update to them ensuring they were safe and secure for pupils. At the time I joined the school, they had no onsite servers and thus meaning no Active Directory to handle Group Policy deployment and a centralised way to log in to the school computers over a domain; due to this, I put together an I.T Plan to help save money as the school was operating desktops that were leased from a local company at a great price. I looked and sourced details of the cost of the same amount of desktops and a few additonal as backups so in the event a computer stopped working compared the cost of the two. While the inital cost would've been expensive, over the next few years there would've been a saving with minimal part upgrades. I then looked into SharePoint for the school to replace the current GSuite system which I found to lack the features that the school needed to manage the data held on it and the costs associated with it. I also updated the school website design to give it a more modern look and more imformative and up-to-date infomation to attract parents, both old and new. On a more day to day basis, I would be supporting with the pupils with learning and also ensuring any I.T issues that arised were managed and fixed in a timely manner. We had old access points which had failed one day and I had the task of getting everyone back online, I ordered the quickest solution of some home mesh access points (The site wasn't large) and got everyone online within an hour of the system going down. If this had been an organised upgrade, then I would've gone for an enterprise solution. Show less
