Currently I work in telesales, but regularly do telephone interpreting and tourguiding and some translation on a casual basis.Since being accredited as a NAATI Japanese interpreter at RMIT in 2000, I have been working as a Japanese interpreter and translator for a number of agencies in Melbourne and in the UK.In November 2003 I worked as an in-house interpreter/translator at Toyota UK for three months, translating training manuals and interpreting at group meetings as required. I performed a similar contract role at Araco Australia in 2005.I regularly do telephone interpreting for Language Line, calls mainly coming from NZ government agencies, dealing with the Immigration Department, rental disputes, workers compensation claims, social security etc. Recently I worked for QITS in Brisbane, Queensland, interpreting at various hospitals in the Brisbane city area, assignments ranging from mental health cases to hospital tours for overseas delegates. I began tourguiding in Feb 2000, while studying Interpreting in Melbourne, and have worked for a number of operators in Melbourneand also in Cairns. This work has included showing tourists our major attractions, also doing school visits and assisting in interpreting between staff and prospective students, farm visits and planning and leading other extended special purpose tours. I have also done some court cases at the Magistrates court.
