Functional eadership role working on a large, multi-phase program to transform, standardize, and improve the business systems and processes in each of Ingersoll Rand’s companies across the World with a particular focus on finance and services

Oversee user testing, deployment, and process improvement projects across Equipment, Service, Parts, Contracting, and Finance streams within North America Sales & Field Operations (including cross stream projects and Office Acquisition Transformation). Lead a staff of 4 direct reports and extended team of 30 with functional responsibility for User Testing execution and deployment activities within each business stream. Led development of standard testing tools and deployment processes used across the Business Operations Support organization. Coordinate and align with various levels and functions across the business to ensure the success of programs and projects. Duties also include Six Sigma mentoring for the Sales Operations organization, leading technical support for the Hussmann refrigeration business, and ownership of the report request and validation process for the North America field organization.

Led a team of 11 direct reports providing application and business process support for Trane’s Service and Parts businesses, which produces approximately $900 million in annual revenues through its company-owned sales offices and parts centers. Approximately 50% of time spent managing/participating in projects within the Service and Parts businesses including productivity improvement projects, Finance and Accounting projects, and projects to integrate the Trane and Ingersoll Rand businesses following the IR acquisition of Trane in 2008. I managed responsibility for testing all application enhancements and led a team that provides 2nd level support for 8 different software applications and integrations across the Service and Parts businesses. This support activity includes assisting users with business system transactions, ensuring business systems have proper controls and meet Trane policy for revenue recognition, job costing, and inventory control.I led implementation and support activities for the deployment of hand held mobility device program for 1800+ field service technicians. Responsibilities include managing relationships with several different vendors providing technical support, software, and connectivity. I was also responsible for leading testing, training and support of a major initiative to integrate and automate transactions between the Trane service and parts businesses. Together these projects have saved the company millions of dollars annually in productivity and increased cash flow due to decreased billing cycle time.

Led a team of 5 direct reports providing application and business process support for Trane’s Contracting business, which produces approximately $500 million in annual revenues through its company-owned sales offices. I was responsible maintaining and updating revenue recognition algorithms for multifaceted installation and subcontracting activities that occur in Trane’s Contracting business. I worked with our accounting department to provide periodic business analytics to assess GAAP compliance of this intricate business. Responsible for several successful system deployments, including participation in a project to standardize, centralize, and automate revenue recognition and costing for Trane plant locations. I was responsible for integrating and deploying Trane Contracting business systems to independent sales offices acquired by the company. While holding this position I also led six sigma projects that produced over $500k in total savings.

Responsibilities included providing business process and application expertise in support of contracting operations and productivity improvements including user support and testing. In this role, I provided training for major system deployments of PeopleSoft for Trane’s company-owned sales offices in both US and Canada. I led 5 six sigma projects to improve the accuracy and integrity of key business systems which saved the company approximately $250k.

General responsibilities included financial reporting, providing oversight to an accounting staff of five, monitoring expenses in the payroll and human resources departments, and maintaining headquarters IT infrastructure. Accounting duties include P&L preparation, financial analysis, ad hoc reporting, fixed asset accounting, sales tax returns, general ledger maintenance, financial statement review, balance sheet reconciliations and leading the month-end close. Provided oversight to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions and assisted the controller with annual tax preparation activities, including real-estate and personal property taxes. Conducted periodic audits to detect employee theft. Assisted Controller with acquisitions and oversaw financial system setups to enable financial reporting of acquired entities. Participated in activities to support budgeting and forecasting cycles. IT related responsibilities include managing AP, general ledger and payroll interfaces, maintaining the network and Internet connectivity, firewall security, workstation/server setups, managing company e-mail accounts, and providing basic technical support to the office and field. Led a project to select and implement new reporting and analysis software, including the complete development of new management reporting. Led and implemented several projects to automate/improve office processes, which measurably reduced overhead.

Prepared consolidations, eliminations, financial reports, ad hoc analyses for management, and analyzed the monthly financial results for Trane North America Distribution. I worked on a team to complete the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles including presentations to and for senior management. Participated in acquisition of independent sales offices and traveled to office site locations to perform due diligence activities. I led the reports phase of a major chart of accounts conversion that included developing a new tree structure for consolidation and rewriting all general ledger reports and re-engineered the affected components of our financial reporting processes.

Administrated technology leases for Trane’s technology procurement department. Duties included performing buy versus lease analysis, verifying compliance with FASB 13 operating lease requirements, coordinating new leases with lessors and equipment owners, tracking leased assets, making recommendations on end of lease options and coordinating the execution of the selected end of lease term options. Developed and optimized new standard process for procuring and returning leased technology assets.
