My natural enthusiasm for networking means that I am set to foster links with other organisations like the Royal Society of Chemistry, Universities and beyond, seeking out opportunities to build symbiotic networks and funding streams. My bespoke leadership role is focused on the development of a STEM hub, while building and maintaining industry and academic connections. My focus is to play a key role in raising the standards of teaching and learning across all STEM subjects. As a classroom teacher I model excellent practice including in assessment for learning, creativity and e-Learning and use my skills to coach and mentor colleagues to aid their professional development.

Although initially employed as Second in Department at Aylesford School, for the autumn term of 2017, I was acting Head of Department. During this time I have managed the department in terms of staff, budgets and developed training and resources. I have been able to culture relationships with universities to provide high quality outreach activities as well as receiving donations equipment and consumables to help improve the practical experience of science for students in my school.… Show more Although initially employed as Second in Department at Aylesford School, for the autumn term of 2017, I was acting Head of Department. My timetable is varied, teaching across the ability range KS3, AQA Triology and AQA Chemistry GCSE as well as being deployed by the Inclusion team in the wider school.In September, I was invited to join the Teaching and Learning group, which is a like minded team of professionals who are interested in innovative pedagogy. Our role has been to investigate ideas that we can bring into the classrooms at Aylesford to aid teaching and learning experiences. We then consider ways to share the ideas that we think will have the best positive impact. I have been part of three whole school CPD events, where I was part of the planning, delivery and development of course notes. Through this role I have also been able to mentor an ITT, as well as offering coaching to teaching staff. Show less

After critically reviewing the KS3 offering and mapping it onto the new National Curriculum I created a new fully resources two year course for Shell (Year 7) and 2nd year (Year 8). My responsibility involved running assessment and collecting data on this.
