To serve as the primary technical escalation point for the data centre production teamAssigning physical locations and examining the logical topology/network design for all customer configurations.Complete the configuration and deployment of network devices hardware via our edge and core router/aggregation topology to include access layer switches, firewalls, loadbalancers and other security appliances for configuration preperation to support the data centre dynamic (via automation/internal tools)Provide technical communication relating to customer configurations to our account coordinators, account managers’ and lead engineers and architects in a concise, professional manner to ensurethe customer build/topology is feasible from the data centre dynamic.To maintain and update custom management software via internal ticketing systems, ensuring accurate tracking of deployment status. Complete customer configuration installations; including hardware modification, operating system installation, mounting of devices within cabinets and completion of all required cabling (cat6 ethernet and single and multimode fibre technologies) To build fully functioning servers utilising x64 based hardware components (which are predominantly dell and HP) operating system installation including file system, disk management and RAID technologies (and hardware support and recommendation)To identify the relationship within electrical and redundant infrastructure systems, ensuring solutions which meet customer requirements.Adhere to company security policies and procedures, including health and safety and local governing requirements to include meticulous housekeeping practices. Coordinate the onboarding and training for all new data centre personnel within the team.Demonstrate high levels of passion and enthusiasm when providing support to all customers and coworkers, consistently building rapport to drive performance improvements

To identify and troubleshoot network/isp issues via ticketing system or phone call, to ensure the upkeep and expansion of the global enterprise backbone spanning four continents and featuring over 25,000 network routers & switches supporting the entire rackspace data centre network.Utilising remote hands and hands on data centre infrastructure support.All work to be performed would be subject to supervision, documentation and quality checks prior to execution.To have the customer’s best interests and resolve network issues and a timely and professional manner. Protocol exposure and physical equipment: OSPF, STP, VTP, VPC, LACP, PAGP, HSRP Equipment: Cisco Catalyst 2900, 4900, 6500 and nexus series Protocols not involved with during my role: MPLS BGP

Duties include handling technical troubleshooting within the data centre, system crashes, slow-downs, hardware troubleshooting etc. Responsibility for the timely documentation including hardware maintenance's, escalation (if appropriate), resolution and closure of trouble tickets. Server cabinet building including installation of net devices, patching and cabling of cat 6, single and multimode fibre, server building including bios, drac/ilo configuration, raid array configuration expansion etc.
