Develop, test and integrate new market model builds, operations tools and processes for the Energy Imbalance and Day Ahead Market.

Operate the Day-Ahead Market to ensure Scheduling Coordinators and Market Participants are compliant with all business practices and standards while meeting market and system reliability requirements. Evaluate and optimize the Integrated Forward Market to manage congestion and system constraints for the Day-Ahead and Real-Time market to meet both reliability and economical needs. Coordinate with Shift Supervisors to determine and satisfy local and system reliability generation and capacity requirements along with procurement of Ancillary Services through load forecasting. Develop, test and integrate new market model builds, operations tools and processes for the Day Ahead Market.

Coordinate the operation of SPP markets including the real-time energy balancing market, congestion management and other ancillary services. Ensure continuous administration and development of the markets and systems utilizing the Market Operations Systems (MOS) and EMS to perform system analysis, real-time market assessment and daily reliability. Monitor, analyze and approve offers, resource plans and reserves into the real-time market to create a reliable and adequate energy supply and capacity in the SPP system.

Approve schedules and tags through RTOSS and OATI as a scheduling entity for several SPP members as well as SPP transmission. Responsible for checking out with adjacent control areas, balancing and monitoring scheduled interchange, adjusting and entering schedules as needed to maintain the overall system reliability. Training and experience as the SPP Reliability Coordinator and Tariff AdministratorResponsibilities include - Issuing TLRs through IDC, coordinating and re-dispatching generation, monitoring line and flow gate loading, congestion management, and controlling frequency. Approving SPP transmission requests, and conducting counter-offers and hourly bumping. Experience with RTOSS, IDC, OATI, EMS, SCADA, eDNA, RSS and other control room applications.
