I moved to Australia from the UK with a background in building / carpentry along with a degree in Interior Architecture.  The shopfitting industry was new to me and a welcome challenge.  Starting with Dynamic Closures in Queensland, I was on the tools as an installation & service technician, a role which quickly grew as the business flourished and my responsibility expanded State-wide.  The increasing volume of work for the Dynamic product in Queensland provided the opportunity to establish a local manufacturing facility outside of our Victorian head office & in 2017 we set up our 2nd factory.  Proudly State Manager since 2019, I’m encouraged by the evolution I’ve experienced with my years at Dynamic and within the shop-fitting industry more broadly.With regards to Dynamic and its story, many people in the shopfitting industry will be familiar with the Dynamic brand; it’s been around for more than 30 years and is the home of the original side-folding door in Australia.  Developed as an alternative to the traditional roller shutter that was found on most shop-fronts of the time, solving WHS issues caused by bending & lifting heavy overhead shutters at the same time as offering a new found flexibility in shop-front design, as the concertina door is able to travel around curves via its overhead track and can stack & store inside cupboards of differing dimensions without the need for floor tracks or removable mullions.  Fast forward three decades and we now supply & install a suite of products providing shopfront security door solutions Australia-wide & beyond.
