Family-owned 5-star boutique guesthouse where I have worked summers and throughout school terms since 2013. My tasks involved decision-making, gaining a wider understanding of the workings of a business, and being the general manager in the absence of the owners. Tasks include checking in guests, working in the kitchen and helping with breakfast, working in reception, and taking in bookings. Working in a small hospitality team has given me great customer service skills, being able to quickly and comprehensively solve a variety of problems raised by customers and communicate effectively to maintain satisfaction. From operating in a small team, I’ve learned the necessity of taking responsibility, working flexibly, and finding solutions together. From being involved in the management of the business I have had to deal with the multitude of problems that can be faced in a small business as well.

I worked with them at the Chester Royal Mail sorting centre part-time with a variety of both day and night shifts. My tasks included providing food and drinks for the staff, cash management, and maintenance of all their catering facilities.
