As someone with a family member with disabilities, I am afforded a unique perspective from both a professional and personal viewpoint for the work I do. After working in this field professionally for 14 years, I have worked with young children in Saturday recreation programs, and supported elderly adults in Intensive Care Facilities, and continue to learn everyday.I have started transitioning from direct care for individuals with disabilities to learn more about organizational behavior management. This new path allows for the application of hands-on experience to broader systemic challenges within the organization. My unique perspective is invaluable in creating a more empathetic and efficient organizational culture, ensuring that the needs of those with disabilities are met not only at the individual level but also through improved organizational practices. My education and experience is pivotal in bridging the gap between direct care and the larger objectives of the organization, ultimately leading to a more inclusive and supportive environment for all stakeholders.
