After running a factory & export firm for almost 15 years, my goal for next 5-8 years is to build TierTier.com into a leading global B2B group sourcing company. Helping business buyers to get better prices & quality by aggregating their purchase, helping the factories with bigger quantities to achieve economy of scale.   TierTier.com is my 3rd start-up. With the quick development of internet, the traditional supply chain is evolving to supply net. In the net, each two channel members are connected. The factories are now selling to the end-users. Anyway, my judgement is that the quickest growth lies in the factory to retailers. Anyway, my judgement is that the quickest growth lies in the factory to retailers. The traditional importer or wholesale will be more and more shortcutted. However, there is still barrier for smaller retailers to purchase direct from factory, for sake of 3 reasons. 1) Smaller quantity not meeting factory's MOQ. To achieve economy of scale, factories need big quantity to reduce the costs. Thus only big orders can get their container load prices. 2) A wide range of products for retailers vs. more specialized line of factory. It is hard for retailers to manage many factories for their line, considering their order scale. 3) Safety & quality issues. It does not pay for the retailers to fly over China to check the factory facilities and inspect the goods. This expose them to more risks. TierTier.com is created to eliminate the barrier then. Retailers' sourcing orders are aggregated to meet the MOQ of the factories. Thus retailers can get a container load price with their small orders. Meantime, they only need to work with TierTier.com to source all their product types, not need to work with too many factories.
