Managing 1000 acres of open space on Nantucket for coastal adaptation and resilience including sandplain grassland and coastal heathland, two critically endangered habitats globally. Managing, funding, and permitting habitat management projects including a 42-acre scrub oak and coastal heathland restoration, a 60-acre phragmites control campaign, and an ongoing 160-acre forest resilience and management project in collaboration with Island partners. Serving as liaison between the Town of Nantucket and Mass Audubon, the Island’s 4th largest landowner, to participate in municipal planning efforts such as the development of the Island’s Coastal Resilience Plan. Hiring and training a Coastal Waterbird Program staff of 6 employees to monitor, protect, and identify habitat for threatened shorebirds at varied coastal sites on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Negotiating shorebird monitoring service contracts with over 20 different beach managers on both Islands including a $210,000 agreement for services at Norton Point Beach, Edgartown MA. Overseeing and fulfilling permit obligations for beach nourishment and other coastal projects for serviced sites. Compiling and submitting state and federal reports to MassWildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on the reproductive activity and predation of piping plover, American oystercatcher, and least, common, and roseate terns across 28 coastal sites on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket annually. Managing the annual operating budget for Nantucket Wildlife Sanctuaries and raising over $60,000/year (surpassing fundraising goals by 100%-200% annually) via private donors and grants to support organization initiatives.

Lowell, Massachusetts

- Supporting wetland delineations and functional assessments for a variety of electric generation and transmission projects in New England- Conducting biological field work and data collection utilizing Arc Collector, Fulcrum, and other GIS technologies- Overseeing construction and providing direction to minimize adverse impact to wetland resource areas and wildlife.

Lincoln, Massachusetts

-Created Mass Audubon's Alternative Spring Break for Aspiring Environmental Leaders. Partnered with UMass Boston the program took a diverse group of students through a week of conservation, advocacy, and outdoor education professional development. - Coordinated Mass Audubon's Avian Collision Team, a citizen science initiative established to better understand bird-window collisions in Boston and rescue injured migratory birds.- Developed a Volunteer Boundary Monitoring Stewardship Program where volunteers were trained in navigation, risk management, field data collection using Arc Collector to make for more efficient annual requirements in accordance with Land Trust Alliance Guidelines.- Validated over 800+ satellite images as part of Mass Audubon's Losing Ground publication investigating trends in land cover change within Massachusetts. - Wrote and distributed a 70-page document titled "Forming a Pathway: Highlighting Partner Institutions to Facilitate Diversity and Inclusion" forwarding Mass Audubon's D&I organizational imperative. - Provided recommendations to hiring managers regarding written job descriptions and interview etiquette to make for a more inclusive and accessible hiring process. - Planned events including a conservation career networking event for college students.- Project Management

• Logged and organized over 2500+ trail register entries in the USFS database for future analysis.• Documented field conditions and wildlife encounters in Jennie Lake and Monarch Wildernesses for over 12-3 day patrols and prepared reports for public consumption to ensure safe access to the backcountry.• Aided in creation of GIS layer identifying trail conditions, campsites, historical assets, and other areas of concern for future use by the Hume Lake Ranger District (HLRD).• Contributed to creation of a Sequoia Nat’l Forest HLRD (https://hlrdwilderness.wixsite.com/info) website which provides the public vital information such as detailed trail conditions, visitor expectations, and safety regulations. • Operated and maintained a variety of equipment (i.e. crosscut, axe, etc.) using USFS safety practices during four separate trail maintenance initiatives.• Educated park visitors on proper backcountry etiquette and safety; encouraged Leave No Trace wilderness ethics and values to ensure future sustainable use of our nation’s public lands.
