Senior Active Modes Specialist
CurrentCycleway Activation Coordinator: Development, delivery and monitoring of active modes programmes aimed at making it easier for people to travel in Auckland by bicycle and get more people riding, more often.Collaborate with, and empower, community partners in the delivery of community-based programmes that build capacity for cycling, remove barriers for uptake and encourage the use of cycling infrastructure before, during and after its construction.Bike Hub Network Programme Manager:Auckland Transport partners with a range of community organisations to operate a network of 12 Bike Hubs across Tāmaki Makaurau, which welcomes over 50,000 visitors per year. Bike Hubs provide the public with low-cost or free basic bike repairs and education, affordable bikes, free bike safety checks and gear, local information and advice, and accept donated bikes which are refurbished and redistributed to the community. My role is to grow the reach of the Hubs, while increasing the services and initiatives provided at each. Additionally, I work closely with individual Hub operators to ensure the programme provides a grounded local approach to behaviour change by removing barriers to access to bicycles, and by building the cycling community's confidence, capacity and resilience.
