Leadership Development Program
As the Leadership in Training Director (LIT), I was responsible for creating, developing, and implementing a new program for over 60 girls in a two-phase model for leadership training and personal success. By working with various modes of leadership training, such as practical skills development, developing professional relationships, and what it looks like to be successful across both activity and counsellor roles, the program trained the girls to move on as successful leaders in both a camp setting, and in any other roles they might undertake. I developed day to day training, including a variety of workshops to help certify across First Aid, Canoe Skills, Program Development, Mental Health, and Personal Success as a Leader. The program I developed is expected to remain in place at the camp, along with a second phase to be implemented 2020.
Head Of Operations
As Head of Operations at Tanamakoon, I was responsible for coordinating between the administration and office staff, the management team, and the rest of the counsellor staff. I oversaw the development of training modules for the counsellor team, and helped run professional development during our pre-camp training week, and through ongoing training over the summer. I was responsible for ensuring camp wide programs were planned effectively, that resources were managed and implemented, and delegating responsibility across staff members. As a group leader, I was responsible for creating an engaging and diverse educational experience for my students, with tasks such as guided journalling and nature reflections to help build the students' sense of leadership, confidence, and respect for the natural world. Amongst the staff I helped run training sessions on various aspects of outdoor education, and participated in ongoing professional development over each season.

As a section head, I was in charge of a staff of 13 women and 80 campers over the summer. I was responsible for the continual weekly training of my staff in areas such as program development, developing leadership amongst staff, and initiative in task building. I coordinated between all members of staff for their shared vision for the campers, and implemented section wide programming to facilitate a cohesive and enjoyable summer for everyone involved. I organized nightly programming for the campers in my section, as well as full day events that were aimed to promote self-efficacy, resilience, and confidence amongst the group of 14-15 year old girls. I was responsible for the health and safety of each camper, and the maintenance of my section.
