I worked as a canvasser for the campaign, Save the Bees, which focuses on banning neonicotinoid pesticides on public land. Our job was to engage and educate the community on the dangers of a declining bee population. In addition, coordinated legislation efforts through petition signatures and fundraisers for Environment Massachusetts. As a team leader in Western Massachusetts we achieved our goals of collecting thousands of petition signatures and raising funds for the organization's ongoing environmental efforts.

Mashpee, Massachusetts, United States

To combat nitrogen overloading in the local bays and waterways, the town of Mashpee, Massachusetts initiated propagation of oysters and quahog and water quality monitoring for the Watershed Nitrogen Management Plan. I oversaw the propagation of millions of oyster and quahog seeds, while monitoring the effects of the water quality. My duties included; constructing of upwellers for seed growth, dispersing of shellfish in appropriate tidal areas, recording weekly water oxygen and particulate levels among other indicators, and controlling predatory invasive species of crabs through traps and disposal.

I volunteered as an activist for sustainability through the student non-profit organization MASSPIRG, working on the 100% Renewable Energy Campaign to achieve a commitment of 100% renewability by the University of Massachusetts Amherst by 2050. I was an active member of the campaign, working on collecting thousands of student petition signatures and numerous faculty endorsements, as well as working with various media outlets to increase public visibility and support of our cause.
