From the first phone conversation and interview for the Application SW Intern placement, through all the fast learning about Connected Lighting Systems, in's and out's of Signify Dynalite Controls and Integration technology, to the great teamwork and collaboration with various business and engineering team stakeholders and colleagues, and finally, great results turning his hard work with the Team on a rather complex System legacy problem into a solution for our Customers. When asked what are his goals & expectations from the Internship, he simply responded with " I'd like to learn, solve challenging problems and create Customer solutions as a part of your Team". We gave him a problem that needed a solution, which he indeed has successfully solved. It was very impressive seeing Sam demonstrate his achievements to a Senior stakeholder group as early as in his 4th Internship week, with lots of responses on problem solutions along the lines of " ...yes, I have come across that problem, looked at potential solutions and we as a Team came-up with a solution that takes a trade-off between performance, limitations and development effort, whilst meeting the customer expectations..." During the course of his internship Sam has also shown a great level of diligence and ability to self- manage work with minimal supervision, he was regularly participating and contributing to Global Team Scrum meetings and has become familiar with key aspects of Product, Systems and Service offer creation (a.k.a. Idea-to-Market), New Product Design and Launch, aspects of Embedded SW and HW development, testing and release, etc. Sam has also created lots of professional and personal connections as a real team player and a trustworthy colleague. Should an opportunity arise we'd be happy to see Sam re-join the Team and would recommend him as an asset to any organisation looking for a professional of his calibre. "
