At Conifer, I have the honor of leading our organization as we carry out our mission of providing quality affordable housing and creating a HOME for Possibilities. It all starts with a HOME. The affordable housing crisis in our nation is severe and its impacts are felt in every community. The need for affordable housing affects individuals and familes from all walks of life, and is not limited to lower income ranges. In many communities, even those earning middle to higher incomes are now struggling to find a quality place to live that is within their means. Conifer is committed to continuing to work with communities to find creative solutions to this crisis. So what do we really mean by a HOME for Possibilities? Think about what it's like to not have one. The stress of trying to find a place you can afford. Then think about what happens when you do. With an affordable, safe and decent HOME, a huge burden and stress is lifted. The kitchen table becomes a place of comfort and nourishment, but also a home base to work on the other most essential of needs - employment, education, health and wellbeing, and building and maintaining connections with family, friends, coworkers. and the community at large. It ALL starts with a HOME.
