About Sam Lockhart
Recent UC Berkeley graduate (Integrative Biology/Environmental Earth Science double-major) working toward becoming a planetary scientist (specializing in geomorphology and planetary surface evolution).I have experience researching the fluvial evolution of Mars (landslides, glaciers, and lava flows), the shared genomic history of chimpanzees and humans, and evolutionary interactions between a plant species and its general environment (specifically pertaining to water dependency).I am spending another year at Cal as I work toward a Master's of Arts in Earth and Planetary Science, where I intend to continue researching planetary surface evolution. I am currently a TA for a course in Solar System science, and hope to gain more teaching experience. My ultimate goal is to be accepted into a doctoral program and eventually become a fully-fledged planetary scientist/geomorphologist. I am also hoping to gain experience in microbiology and isotope research (especially topics relating to the broader evolution of life on Earth).
