I joined British American Tobacco (BAT) as a toxicologist in the Next Generation Product (NGP) Acquisitions team, assessing portfolios of e-cigarettes and e-liquids to integrate them with accepted business standards. From August 2017 I took the role of Scientist II, first in the NGP Deploy Maintenance team and then from January 2018 in the Discovery team. This has expanded my knowledge and experience of multiple product categories. • Safety assessments of a wide range of devices including closed and open system e-cigarettes, tobacco heating products, non-heated e-liquid vaporisers and conventional cigarettes• Risk assessed multiple consumable formats including e-liquids, flavourings and heated or burned tobacco stick components• Contributed to a flavour toolbox by analysing potential ingredients, from hazard screens up to full quantitative risk assessment• Worked on various product category approaches concerning ingredient allergy potential, presenting some of this work at an external scientific conference• Been responsible for organising and enabling a novel NGP Discovery function, including working with several departments and stakeholders Show less
