On studio days, I get to help prepare inventory that goes out for setting up the events. This includes cleaning and packaging votives, chandeliers, candelabras, candles, anything you could imagine (and more) that goes into creating a beautiful backdrop for our clients. I also process the floral shipments to be stored properly to ensure they are beautiful for the events.I am also learning how to make all-things-floral in multiple mediums. Vases, compotes, boutonnaires, wrapping vines around carefully handcrafted arbors, and my favorite, corsages. Outside the studio, I help with transport and the actual setup of (typically) weddings, though we also do other events. This involves so many things, but mostly, creative problem solving and working as part of an amazing team that includes production staff (in addition to floral) to create some of our more complicated installations that we finish onsite. I love watching and being a part of all the pieces come together to create the perfect backdrops for these special moments. It is amazing to be involved in this industry amongst other creatives who have done this for years. I am gratefeful to be able to use many different skills here, depending on the day, week, and season. We are constantly learning and growing and evolving to meet our clients vision and while it is challenging, it is incredibly rewarding.
