Currently Teaching and Learning Lead at St Christopher’s Trust. Previously Year 6 Lead at St Matthew’s Primary School in Plymouth. Also undertake the role of Maths Lead and Dual-Coding and Knowledge Retention Lead Practitioner for St Christopher’s Trust. I taught for the first 6 years of my career at High View School in Plymouth, learning my trade in an outstanding environment. Throughout that time I worked as an SLE, developing curriculum and practice within schools across Devon and Cornwall. In developing my own pedagogy around dual-coding, I’ve been fortunate enough to create my own series of training sessions around the use of schema and dual-coding and disseminate this to many colleagues across the South West. I have also developed my knowledge and understanding of Teaching for Mastery in maths for many years. I now continue this work, and share my practice with colleagues in my role of Trust Teaching and Learning Lead, where my goal is to boost the quality of teaching, improve curriculum and ultimately enhance outcomes across our trust schools.
