As Director of Data Services, I developed the strategy and vision to build cutting-edge analytics technology to empower organizations to use data to make decisions. I led day-to-day agile activities of the teams and collaborated closely with other development teams to drive the improvements and deliver on the technical roadmap. I recruited and managed the following teams of data analysts and data engineers: The voter file processing team processed voter registration data through python and SQL scripts to cleanse, standardize, match and dedupe 200+ million records. This team built a custom Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) system to manage the terabyte-sized national voter file database.The analytics infrastructure team maintained the analytics platform that provides analytics data access to campaigns. The team managed multiple HP Vertica EC2 clusters that provided very fast query access to large, fast-growing volumes of data. The team managed integration systems to replicate data through change data capture to the Vertica clusters and applications to schedule and manage the workflow of SQL jobs and integrate with vendor’s APIs.The analytics business intelligence team provided design and implementation of tableau reports and visualization as well as defined metrics to assess campaign performance.The data services support and training team provided access and training to 300+ state and 80+ national data staff to the analytics platform to provide skills training and platform support to help with SQL questions and to promote best practices.
