At the University of Colorado (Anschutz Medical Campus) and Denver Health, I work as a Professional Research Assistant on clinical trials relating to surgery and trauma.

I prepare for and instruct two laboratory sections of Physiology 201. We cover four main units: The Integument System & Histology, Bones, Muscles, and the Nervous System.

As the Instructor Manager for Saguaro Aquatics, I managed, evaluated, and provided feedback for swim instructor staff. I assigned closing and cleaning duties for the pool and provided clientele support in order to maintain positive relationships. I handled and solved class complaints and concerns punctually.Additionally, I helped transform the Monsoon Swim Club into a strong and competitive swimming institution. I coached our intermediate skill group (ages 6-17). My objective was to enhance swimming technique and overall endurance in order to allow my swimmers to progress into the advanced skill group. As a USA certified Swimming Coach, I prepared and traveled with my swimmers to USA meets in Tucson and Phoenix.

From January to May of 2013, I organized an 84 day, minimum expense travel program. Working with the Homeless World Cup, an international non-profit organization, I progressed through 14 countries. My aim was simple: to learn from homeless individuals and obtain a stronger sense of cultural understanding. Through interviews and critical experiences (assisting in the organization of the European Homeless Cup and the Homeless World Cup) I was able to reach a new level of comprehension- both of vagabonds and myself.

Under the tutelage of Dr. Victor Hruby and Dr. Ruben Vardanyan, I conducted an independent project with the overall goal of synthesizing the backbone for a new pain-killer drug. I used a Meldrum’s acid to create a derivative and crystallization techniques to purify the compound. NMR, mass spectrometry, IR, and chromatography techniques were used to analyze chemicals.

The Chess Club is a part of Community Schools, an after-school program at Sam Hughes Elementary designed to enrich and bolster student experience and intelligence. Through drilling exercises, chess puzzles, and chess scrimmages, I strove to improve the chess ability and critical thinking talents of my students.

As a member of a diverse ten-person team inside Overbrook High School, my goal was to create a positive environment for students and progress forward with community service and community involvement. I implemented academic tutoring, social mentoring, and college readiness initiatives for students and assisted in the execution, organization, and in-kinding for a college fair that reached 577 students through 37 national college representatives. I provided daily instruction and managed Algebra 1 pullout sessions. I performed service, rebuilding projects, and mural design for the urban neighborhoods and schools of Philadelphia. As a member of City Heroes, I lead a group of 12 high-school students in leadership development, service learning, and diversity programs. I constructed curriculum and ran writing and hip-hop programs for students after school hours concluded.

In collaboration with the Gilbert Parks and Rec, I coached kids (ages 5-17) for a recreational swimming league. I instructed and practiced the four competitive strokes (fly, back, breast, free) and organized weekly swim meets for all age groups and strokes. I successfully ran multiple city-wide championship meets with over 300 swimmers attending.
