As lead for Infrastructure Transformation projects in EMEA, I act as a technical consultant specialising in migrations either to the cloud or to on-premise DCs depending on the client’s requirements, network transformations, or infrastructure assessments.

Reporting to the Head of IT, my role as part of the IT management team at Virgin Active is to head up the Network & Infrastructure team to deliver operational excellence, architect leading technical solutions, form the direction and strategy of the department, and to road-map the infrastructure landscape.

Reporting to the Global IT Operations Director, I was responsible for heading up the Corporate IT Infrastructure department for the group, which was made up of 20+ team members in various geographical locations across Europe. Core responsibilities of the team included server, desktop, mobile, voice, and network management. I defined strategy of the team, provided technical solutions, managed project work and budgets, handle supplier relations, as well as ensuring that business needs were supported on a day to day basis. - Responsible for managing the MPLS for the group to ensure the service matches Odigeo’s requirements. In 2012 I instigated a project to implement a WAN optimisation solution to increase visibility and improve performance of the MPLS, while decreasing OPEX costs. - Key to the early part of the company merger was the standardisation of tools and processes. Led a group migration to a hosted G Suite solution to ensure simple and efficient collaboration between all employees in multiple sites across Europe. - Also led a project to consolidate the 5 existing Active Directory solutions pre-merger into a single AD for the new group, which was key for aligning processes within the team and removing duplication of work across sites.

Responsible for all infrastructure systems, leading teams in a number of European locations. Key achievements included a successful Data Centre migration and also led a project to virtualise Opodo’s server estate and define a DR strategy, from the initial research and RFI/RFP, to planning the project, and the final implementation.
