Here's how I arrived at my current position:After graduating from The Ohio State University, and a couple months of job hunting, I landed in the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) industry. Not because I was fascinated with building construction like I am now, but because I needed a job. I had not heard of MEP until I started working in the field. I quickly felt the gap between school and industry.Within a few years, I went from feeling unprepared to managing $90M projects and leading teams of junior engineers. This success wasn't due to innate talent, exceptional work ethic, or my college degree; it was all thanks to some great mentors who saw my potential and invested time in understanding my needs and helping me grow my skills.From working at several different firms, I quickly discovered a common challenge facing our industry: hiring, training, and retaining skilled engineers. Many of my peers did not receive the same exceptional mentorship that I did, and there is a lack of quality educational material for MEP engineers online.After obtaining my professional license in Ohio and gaining more industry experience, I founded BETI to support the engineering services industry by developing talent. My professional expertise spans various sectors, including K-12 schools, higher education, commercial mixed-use, government, industrial, EV charging, semiconductor, solar, and retail tenant improvements.I'm always looking to meet people working on things they are excited about.
