• I am responsible for the design of all types of fire protection systems sprinklers and alarms using Revit, AutoCAD and Hydra CAD and performing calculations to prove and check the system is working. • Review designs done by contractors, making sure it complies with NFPA and Canadian building codes.• Providing advice on both new buildings and buildings under going refurbishment in respect to fire safety measures and investigate advise and solve unusual design problems.• Visiting projects/construction sites to advise on the installation or implementations of the design.• Develop preliminary design and engineering specifications for design development and tender stage.• Manage projects from preparation of proposals through to delivery and closeout and be the primary client contact.

To produce accurate plans, calculations and supporting documentation for the installation, alteration, and ongoing maintenance of the full range of active fire protection systems offered by Argus.B. To carry out site surveys of existing fire system installations and produce as-built drawings and supporting documentation as needed.C. To develop a drawing register to track and index as-built drawings for projects completed by Argus. This is to include electronic achieving of drawings and in the case of old projects (pre-CAD) achieving of the hard copy drawings.D. To assist the project manager to create manuals for fire protection system installations.E. To create a register/booking system to allow internal clients to book design work, this register is to be used to manage the design workflow including tracking projects that have been framed out to sub-contract designers. 2. Compliance.A. To produce the necessary documentation to gain compliance for the installation and alteration of the full range of active fire protection systems offered by Argus.B. To manage the compliance process to ensure that documentation is submitted in a timely manner and compliance is achieved on time.C. To assist with the development of a register to track the compliance documentation for installation using MS Share Point. 3. General Technical Support.A. Develop familiarity and competence with the features, operation, code/standard requirements, design, installation and maintenance of water-based fire protection system (sprinkler systems, pre-action systems, deluge systems, foam systems, hydrant systems, pumps, fire hose reel systems…). 4.
