I am very interested in doing research in the biochemistry field, in order to help manufacture drugs that will be used to benefit thousands of people. I hope that in my career I'll be able to apply my passion for science to benefit society and help individuals live better lives. I'm a current student at the University of Glasgow studying to get a BSC in Biochemistry and am set to graduate in 2026. I intend to pursue further education to acquire a PHD before hopefully going into industry. I have always had a passion for helping others, my past work experience although not scientifically related centers around helping others, swim teaching and academic tutor. This passion converged with another passion for science which was developed throughout secondary school. By pursuing a career in research and drug discoveryI hope to be able to fulfill both of these passions. While at university I've developed basic lab skills including: pipetting, agarose gel electrophoresis, and data analysis. I have applied these skills in multiple lab reports where I have also enhanced my ability of scientific writing. Additionally, from previous work experience I've been able to develop good communication skills which have been applicable in working with groups both in and out of the lab.
