I was repeatedly noted by those I supported for my promptness, dedication and friendly demeanor.In the System Engineer role I was subordinate to other team members yet was the main backup in case more help was needed; as a result I kept up with how to maintain various parts of the network backbone including modern level 3 switches/firewalls, Mitel servers/phones/software, VMs, backup systems, access points, APCs and ISP gateways. I assisted with the deployment of brand new equipment on a large scale during the opening of a new building in 2018. I regularly worked with our outside vendors. Working in the team environment was most rewarding in this role.The most unique role I had was as Web Programmer. I was the lead developer responsible for maintaining a PHP-based sales system that acted as an in-house developed software offering custom functionality to staff that would have been significantly more expensive to acquire from outside. This system used MySQL databases and Ubuntu servers. Upon being brought on I was responsible for updating it to modern PHP (from 5.3 to 5.6 and then 5.7) as well as securing the system with TLS and finally updating the server from 14.04 to 18.04. This required a great deal of updating the code directly. I also built new functionality into the system, expanded the capabilities of the system using modern frameworks like node.js and express, and generally kept the system running while upgrading as needed.
