In my current role I am responsible for the high value of stock control, I ensure the products are correct to the purchase orders and the highest quality is upheld. I control all stock in and out of production stock ensuring all traceability of each component using GRN's inline with customer's work orders. I carry out monthly stock control measures including cycle counts and cross referencing them against the company's stock management system SMS V12. I have implemented new stock control measures within the store room making it more efficient, using rack locations along with bin locations. I have also linked these to the company's management system ensuring that everyone needing to find stock can easily do so.I work closely with our suppliers to make sure quality is at the highest standard and ensure all manufacturing techniques are captured. I also organise stock items to be paint and silk screening liaising with our supplier in accordance with demand. I am also responsible for mechanical inspection making sure all goods received are to product drawings, I use multiple types of measuring equipment including Rohs testing, micro meters, bore gauges etc.Before starting this role I was taken on as a Production Technician where I assembled detectors for electron microscopes. I would use a multitude of skills which included wiring, soldering, sensor loading and testing inline with work order demand and standard operating procedures.The knowledge from my assembly role helps me to be more efficient when carrying out mechanical inspection, knowing how the components will be assembled.

I currently work as the Stock Control Engineer at RaySpec Ltd. A company that specializes in manufacturing energy dispersive x-ray detectors based on Silicon Drift Detector technology. My role as the stock control engineer involves getting all stock through and into products and getting the completed goods ready for shipping.At the goods-in end of the role, it is my responsibility to get all received purchase orders booked into the stock control database. I inspect all mechanical parts to their drawings and for all compliance requirements such as RoHS. I work with the quality and purchasing department to solve any rejections or failures with the suppliers.I assist with the supply management by arranging all sub-assemblies that need to be sent to the sub-contractors for completion. I also manage all rejected parts with the respective suppliers to get returned and corrected.My stock control duties involve managing all stock locations. I run all the biannual stock-takes and have reduced the number of lost stock greatly since I have taken it over. My management of the storeroom also involves raising all POs for any sundry shortages that are required. I am responsible for all kitting for the manufacturing works orders to ensure they are ready to be completed according to the manufacturing schedule. This all involves managing all goods-in cleaning requirements to ensure they meet clean-room standards.From a quality point of view, I am responsible for all outgoing quality checks on finished products. This involves determining the required quality standard for all products and then inspecting each product before it moves to packing.

Young Person'S Substance Misuse Worker

In my current role I deliver information and education talks’ and one to one support in relation to substance misuse to under 18’s. I really enjoy my role working with young people providing them with an opportunity to learn the risks and harmful effects of drug and alcohol misuse. By giving them the knowledge and information to make more informed choices if they encounter a situation involving substances they have the skills to manage this. Talks can range from small groups of 2 or 3 up to 500 students depending on the need of the client. I am based within schools and community projects where I work closely with safeguarding teams and partner agencies. I also deliver drop in sessions to young people. The drop in sessions are delivered to give young people an opportunity to see the drugs box and to have access in a more informal environment to ask questions they may have during their school day. I conduct a lot of partner agency working alongside R-U-Safe, community safety teams, police, the Youth Offending Service and local authorities to support them and work closely together to tackle certain situations that may arise. I have also taken on the task of striping and redesigning the inside of a large van to make it into a mobile outreach project which included fitting it with an Xbox one, TV, music studio, kitchen, seating and doors, I also designed the livery for the exterior of the vehicle along with uniforms to match.I have attended many training course in my time with Addaction including: safeguarding, motivational interviewing, basic youth work course, sexual heath c-card, recovery planning and CSE.
