The majority of my professional experience is with creating web applications in a team environment using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, TypeScript and SQL with Microsoft Visual Studio guided both from technical specifications written by management and myself. In my time as a Software Engineer, one of my most sophisticated projects involved developing a billing program for the company that retrieved fax service usage data as well as charge rates from our SQL database, summarized the data by send/receive, type of call (domestic/international), checked for ported DIDs in the billing period, and generated a PDF of the invoice for a specified billing period that could be distributed to customers. I was responsible for the invoice template design, front and back-end services, as well as designing the database schema and populating/managing the data in the corresponding tables. I also have consulted as a Business Analyst where I developed reports for board meetings that presented company growth based on real-time usage of the fax service. Additionally, I have performed service analysis to optimize resources and reduce costs based on estimated project requirements.In graduate school, I have learned about statistical modeling and analysis in the univariate and multivariate settings. I also have learned programming tools for big data, using Google Cloud Platform (Hadoop, BigQuery, and DataProc) and Apache Spark. Additionally, I have taken a course in machine learning and thus have exposure to some of these algorithms. I have learned how to develop classifiers both in Python and R. This program has given me the confidence to find solutions and communicate my findings both written and orally. I am an excellent student, currently holding a 3.96 cumulative G.P.A. with two courses remaining in the program. I believe that my ability to ask the right questions and break down difficult concepts has been a key factor in my academic success and ability to learn quickly.
