The construction inspector serves in the Development Engineering group where they work as a team to assist property owners, developers and contractors accomplish their civil work in Lynnwood. Development Engineering is one branch of the Development and Business Services Department.This role is specifically responsible for inspection of underground utility (water, sewer, storm) extensions from City owned assets to development sites. Additionally, inspection of right-of-way use and construction from franchise utility companies. The construction inspector ensures construction is an alignment with approved civil plan sets put for by the City Engineer as well as contractor compliance with APWA, AWWA and WSDOT standards and practices.This position collects and reviews a multitude of data which include: plan revisions, compaction reports, CCTV of sewer and storm mains, material submittals and geotechnical reports. The inspector assists with plan review and pre-development meetings as well.
