I spent 8 rewarding years as a teacher, creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for my students. During this time, my husband Laurence and I welcomed two beautiful baby girls. Returning to work after maternity leave was heart-wrenching; I couldn't bear leaving them. I reduced my hours as much as possible, and one evening, Laurence and I discussed relaunching White Cross Training with the hope of earning a bit more each month. Before we knew it, we were talking with website designers, ordering equipment, and diving into marketing. Initially, we never intended for me to leave teaching, let alone so soon. However, 11 months after returning to work, and just 10 months after starting our business, I handed in my notice. It was a scary decision, but we've never looked back. We’re all so happy, and being home with our girls is the best feeling in the world.First aid has always been a passion of mine. My first job was as a lifeguard, where we trained regularly, and I developed a passion for helping others. This early experience instilled in me the importance of being prepared for emergencies and the impact that proper training can have. This passion has only grown, driving me to ensure that others are equipped with the skills they need in critical situations.Laurence and I work tirelessly to grow White Cross Training, building strong client relationships and forming a dedicated, passionate team. Here are my top 5 (plus a bonus) favorite things about running White Cross Training:Quality Time with Our Girls: I get to spend almost all my time with our girls. Working from home with them is my dream come true.Working for Us: Putting in the hard work for our own business feels a million times more rewarding than working for someone else. Those late nights are 100% worth it.Positive Feedback: I'm always proud of our instructors, but it truly warms my heart to hear all the positive feedback about our friendly and flexible booking process (that's my department)!Making a Difference: Knowing that what we do makes a difference in our community. People really use the skills we teach them. We’re truly making an impact.Unlimited Potential: The sky's the limit for White Cross Training. Our growth is entirely in our hands, and I love the thrill of the unknown!Supporting Our Team: We're not just working hard for ourselves, but also for our incredible instructors and event team. It's amazing to provide work that's appreciated by such dedicated people.I feel incredibly happy to be on this journey, surrounded by an amazing team and a supportive community.
