Responsibilities included the day-to-day operations of PACS for Missouri Baptist Medical Center, facilitating optimal system performance for accuracy in medical image storage/retrieval with emphasis in reliable high availability conducted in compliance with internal policies and IHE regulatory requirements. I also supported and coordinated various aspects of digital imaging, including image transfer quality and information integrity from imaging modalities (CT, CR, MR, US, etc) in CVIS (ScImage), RIS (GE/IDX Imagecast), Digital Mammography (Hologic) network connectivity and image quality in the recovery rooms of the Cath Lab (GE, and Quinton); also the storage of clinical data in a secure environment or Long Term Archive. Furthermore, I ensured the effective distribution and display of both clinical images and corresponding diagnostic information associated with clinical data workflow, modalities, PACS, and RIS (IDX and McKesson) integration. My work also included tier2 user support for all imaging applications and system software, new revisions and upgrades, ande database integrity and scheduled preventive maintenance, PACS liaison between the department’s medical staff and radiologists. Coordinated with the PACS-Radiology team in the documentation and maintenance of policies and procedures for cybersecurity, disaster recovery, data integrity workflow, and future system’s expansion and imaging dynamic, in addition to supporting in the integration and analysis of the dictation software (Nuance PowerScribe) through testing, implementation, training, and documentation. Also, worked with vendor applications and upgrades, technical support with engineers from PACS/UltraVisual system, Powerscribe, ScImage CVIS, and IDX Imagecast RIS. In addition, I provided on-call support on a rotating schedule for several BJC facilities and was required to be available to always respond to routine emergency situations.
