CONNECT + CODE + COLLABORATE = CREATEConceived, developed and executed BuzzJam event format (along with Remi Harris MBE), described as a hybrid of a ‘hackathon’ and a ‘jam session’, bringing together computer coders and musicians for live performance. Pitched concept and set up partnerships with Red Bull, Sony Music, We Make Awesome Sh, Weller Media Agency, Arts Council England and secured seed funding and ‘in kind’ support. Lead and set objectives for multidisciplinary team from 4 separate companies Briefed creative agency and oversaw all creative asset generation including photoshoots, artwork design, and video content creation.Executively produced documentary film from 2016 eventOversaw PR and earned significant earned media coverage including Sky News, BBC R1, BBC R4, Vice, Music Week, Hypebot, Red Bull, Tech Radar, The DrumAbout: Buzz Jam pairs teams of computer coders with music artists to create new musical instruments for one unique performance. A 'hack day' is to a computer coder what a 'jam session' is to a music artist, Buzz Jam is a mixture of the two.The event was conceived by YGN (Young Guns Network) and produced with partners We Make Awesome Sh., Red Bull Studios, Sony Music UK, Weller Media Agency and supported by funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England. BuzzJam was designed to connect young music industry professionals with the tech community to explore the concept of adding another art form (coding) into the creative process.
