I worked with all the agencies, statutory bodies and voluntary groups who work with people experiencing homelessness in Bedford. I encouraged collaboration and partnership, and provided information both within the sector and to the general public. I organised conferences and forums, and arranged training and development. I established a "Community of Practice" for the homelessness sector, which involved front-line staff, volunteers and people with lived experience to look at shared issues and come up with collaborative solutions.I acted as a spokesperson for the homelessness sector in Bedford, and have been interviewed on both local and national radio. I set up social media pages to raise awareness of the issues, and produced a monthly newsletter for the sector.I collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders, at both strategic and front-line level, including the police, NHS, local authority, business and the voluntary sector.I introduced a highly successful Homelessness Awareness Week in Bedford, which included theatre performances, film screenings, art exhibitions and open days. I also partnered with Fujifilm and the Higgins Gallery to create a photography project for people with lived experience of homelessness to showcase their skills. I am passionate about co-production, and believe that we will only come close to our shared goal of ending homelessness by working together.
