Sam is a Managing Director at Haddington Ventures. Founded in 1998, Haddington Ventures, LLC oversees a growing portfolio of successful conventional and renewable energy businesses that are bringing innovative new infrastructure to the U.S. energy sector. Sam has been at Haddington since 2007. His responsibilities include evaluation and execution of new investment opportunities, macro level industry analysis, and ongoing portfolio company initiatives. He supports all aspects of the portfolio companies, ranging from industry analysis and technical due diligence to support of equity and debt financings and the ultimate exit from the investment. Mr. Pyne serves on the Board of Managers at Eureka Resources and Apex CAES. Prior to joining Haddington, Mr. Pyne worked as an equity analyst at Howard Weil, Inc., covering a number of public midstream energy companies and master limited partnerships. Prior to Howard Weil, he worked in several engineering and operational roles. From 1996 until 1999, Mr. Pyne worked as a process engineer at a Lyondell petrochemical facility. In 1999, he co-founded an Internet technology company and successfully sold the company in mid-2000. In 2001, Mr. Pyne helped found another ongoing venture funded startup where he worked until 2003.
