Sam Ramirez Jr. was born and raised in San Jose, California. After attending Willow Glen High School and attending a local community college, Sam began his career in the Bar and Night Club industry in 1986 as a Bouncer and Head of Security at The Library. It is here that Sam realized his passion and dream to one day become a bar or Resturant and lounge owner operator. Sam worked his way up throughout the Bar and Night Club Industry and worked in various capacities (Security, Bartender, Promoter, Bar Manager, Operations, Back Office, Owner, etc.). Sam has worked and been an integral part of numerous successful establishments throughout the Bay Area – DB Coopers, Paradise Beach Club, Studio 47, Club F/X, AJAX Lounge, Cactus Club, The Edge, DNA Lounge SF, Townsend Club SF, End Up SF, etc. In 2002 Sam took over The Cardiff Lounge in Historical Downtown Campbell, as the Owner/Operator. Because of Sam’s efforts and entertainment expertise, over the past 20 years, The Cardiff Lounge has become an icon in the Bay Area for its eclectic music scene. In 2011 Sam expanded his ventures and partnered with The Last Call Group to open El Guapo's Tacos, in downtown Campbell. El Guapo's Taco's is a hip, funky full service taqueria, accompanied with traditional Mexican libations, which, along with its large open air patio, gives Guapo's its fun Cantina feel. In addition to El Guapo's, Sam and The Last Call Group also opened The Branham Lounge in San Jose, CA. Sam partnered with the management team at Opa to expand Opa’s brand locally and throughout the Bay Area. Opa currently has 6 locations operating daily in Willow Glen, Los Gatos, Los Altos,Walnut Creek Palo Alto and Down Town Campbell. The Continental Bar, Lounge & Patio is Sam's latest establishment. Located in the heart of the SoFa District in Downtown San Jose, The Continental brings live music, soul funk disco jazz and world class houseDjs and craft cocktails/beer for local residences, businesses and convenient visitors.Sam also has involved him self in local leadership including senior fellow with ALF American leadership foundation sam also served as a executive board member for San Jose downtown association sam also won small business of the year in 2019 he was one of 80 businesses out of 3 million small businesses
