I am an early career researcher working at Swansea University in partnership with Tata Steel to create a Net Zero steel industry. I have attended and presented my work at national and international conferences on steelmaking and fuel technology. My paper on the analysis of alternative fuels for iron ore sintering has been published in MDPI's Sustainability journal with more papers on the horizon. I have a strong background in industry having a year's experience as a process engineer at Phillips 66 Humber refinery.Whilst at Swansea I have become proficient in analytical techniques such as gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and scanning electron microscopy. I have extensively analysed biofuels for their combustion properties and volatile emission characteristics using not only laboratory techniques but computational density functional therory too. My Current research is on developing the use of thermal cameras as an analytical technique in the steel industry to monitor energy use.
