I am a senior aerospace engineering student at the University of Maryland, and I am part of the University Honors program in the Honors College. I am also a Teaching Fellow, employed by the Aerospace department at the University of Maryland; I help students practice problems and understand concepts and I have been grading assignments for two different aerospace classes I have taken and done well in at this school. I am interested in environmental studies, and I am pursuing a minor in sustainability to complement my engineering major. In the future, I hope to lead or be a part of projects that focus on reducing carbon emissions of developing aerospace technologies or increasing sustainable energy production in order to mitigate the effects of climate change, which I have already studied in depth in two coinciding courses, available exclusively to University Honors students. I am currently working on Gamera S, a solar-powered rotorcraft project capable of supporting a person’s weight. This project perfectly compliments both my aerospace major and sustainability minor.
