Worked in the agile meter data management (MDM) department, processing billions of readings daily and creating reports to support business processes for hundreds of electrical cooperatives across America. Successfully implemented a data extract to allow cooperatives to report on MV90 CMEP data from their meters. Project involved several codebases and required significant changes to the UI. The data extract itself was written in Scala and deployed to Databricks as a job. Wrote unit and integration tests for each project that I worked on. Regularly followed existing documentation to activate MDM for over a dozen new cooperatives. Updated documentation when outdated and clarified steps. Implemented several small changes to the MDM codebase, which was at times up to 15 years old. The changes involved modifying Terraform code for AWS services and the creation of or changes to Python scripts. Collaborated with the Data Engineering team in order to help transition MDM to using Databricks as a platform.

Was mentored by the MDM team I would later work under. Familiarized myself with the various software components and concepts used in MDM.Started to work in an agile environment for the first time. Extracted meter data (system events and programs) from Amazon S3 and used it to populate tables in Databricks. Implemented a Kafka topic to help with detecting CRUD changes to data and trigger updates. Used Databricks to count the same data from above and stream the resulting counts into ElasticSearch.

Processed incoming and outbound student packages. Maintained a clean and friendly workspace.
