Relationship management and support role for a portfolio of 60 key commercial banking clients, in the heart of New Zealand’s business and economic hub. The role heavily relied on the preparation and submission for approval of new and increased business lending proposals, by obtaining and analyzing industry and business information, and assessing economic value and risk potential. Predominately these were asset and equipment finance, trade/stock/debtor finance, business overdrafts/loans and lines of credit, and foreign exchange risk deals. Assisting businesses in start-up, growth, and expansion phases, as well as providing consolidation, and business in distress with support, arranging complex funding requirements, across varying structures.- Completed financial modeling (including sensitivity modeling) on financial results- Worked closely with asset finance, cashflow and trade finance, private bank, and treasury colleagues, delivering exceptional levels of specialist knowledge- Other tasks included the monitoring of excesses, covenant compliance, handling of legal documentation

Analysis, decisioning, and processing of credit lending decisions for commercial and business bank clients. Chosen for the 12 month secondment position, I cut my teeth in commercial business banking credit risk. Ensuring banking policy and guidelines was being adhered too was something that I took very seriously, whilst encouraging a healthy risk appetite.

As the sole support person for 2 business banking managers, I was a key contact point for over 300 of business bank clients, over the 2 portfolios. I responded too, and dealt with all manner of banking enquiries. A majority of our customers were tourism operators, restaurants/bars, commercial property and land owners, and in the agricultural industry. These customers expected very speedy answers and vast array of bank products and services.

Entry level position into banking. I greatly exceeded the sales targets, and functions performed by a newcomer, as a result, I was then fast tracked to the business banking environment and, my next role.

Working part time while studying full time, I was responsible for preparing annual financial statements, management accounts and forecasting. I completed tax returns for our clients as individuals, partnerships and limited companies.
