As NIC's Data and Analytics Team Manager, I directly managed a team of four analysts, and oversaw the work of three other employees as well as a ten-member external data collection team. I was responsible for data quality, analysis, and presentation, and I led the firm's quarterly data publication process. Within an Agile framework, I managed the professional development and performance reviews of my team. Further, I was the primary hiring manager for multiple team members, and I interviewed and developed test material for multiple other hires. My team and I used R, SQL, Tableau and excel to improve the resilience, reporting, and automation of the firm's data operation. This included converting manual systems to reliable automated systems and ensuring that all externally distributed data reports & analysis received a two-tier review for accuracy and data protection.I helped drive numerous firm-wide initiatives and improvements from conceptualization through testing and release. These include the firm's first internal wiki, multiple internal and external software improvements, and multiple new data products. In particular, I was the responsible for NIC's Actual Rates product, an industry-first data product with unprecedented details of the financial operations of dozens of firms representing a significant share of the marketplace. I managed the firm's efforts to build data contributor relationships, and drove development of the final data product in collaboration with the IT team. Further, working closely with the senior executive team, I developed the content and analytics for our quarterly, market-leading webinar. I led collaboration with other industry researchers, and regularly prepared analysis and presentations which the senior executives presented to audiences in the hundreds. I was also responsible for multiple weekly customized data requests from NIC's major clients, for which I developed novel queries, aggregations, and quality assurance checks.

As NIC's lead quality assurance analyst, I worked in SQL Server, R, and Excel to ensure the accuracy of all of NIC's market data, which supports NIC's subscription data portal as well as other publications. Additionally, I used my background in programming and economics to continually upgrade & automate the quality assurance systems that ensure the accuracy and completeness of NIC's data.I developed a deep understanding of the economic landscape underlying real estate markets in general and seniors housing and care in particular, and regularly supported NIC's senior staff in preparing data & economic analysis for public release and presentation.

At DC energy I have developed a deep understanding of electricity markets, while greatly expanding on my understanding of, and expertise in, data analysis, database architecture and normalization, web design, object oriented programming and systems administration.I have extensively used PHP, R, MySQL, jQuery/JavaScript/AJAX, and HTML/CSS. I have also gained meaningful experience with UNIX and Redis. All of my programming experience has been in the context of supporting DC energy's trading activities and supporting and expanding our data acquisition and storage infrastructure.
