I use various coaching and programming techniques to encourage athletes of various skill levels to reach their potential. Relationship management with teams and members to ensure year over year retention has been essential to my success as a coach. I am one of the most requested after coaches in the organization, my teams value my approach to working hard while having fun and always encouraging others to be their best selves.

CanoeKayak Canada is the governing body for the sport of sprint kayak in Canada. They are largely recognized as the highest performing summer sport at the Olympics for Canada. Athletes on the National team are recognized by funding through the Sport Canada, a division of the Federal Government of Canada.I raced for Canada for several years winning medals in international competition. I am a member of the World Cup medal winning 4 man kayak from 2013. This is Canada's sole medal in the event since 2006. I am a 5-time America's Cup and 9-time National Champion in kayak. I have been ranked top 10 in the World, and have a reputation of being extremely coachable with an excellent work ethic. I excel at public speaking in the local community, demonstrating the leadership skills learned in high performance sport and perseverance. Personal brand management and marketing has been essential for me to secure additional funding to offset equipment expenses. I reached 105% of my GoFundMe goal and secured national publicity for my campaign through Post Media.

The Sport Innovation Zone is part of the DMZ Incubator at Ryerson University. The Sport Innovation Zone is the largest university funded incubator for sports. They have strategic partnerships with Stanford and MIT, along with various corporate organizations in Toronto.I created writing white papers for internal use of the Sports Innovation Zone on high performance wearable technology. This involved data collection, analysis, and trend identification for the vertical. Using my knowledge of high performance sport I was able see the whole picture merging passion for technology and innovation with my research skills. I was requested and accepted to speak at the 2015 Wear it Smart conference in Montreal. The conference had more than 200 attendees and was the first full day conference of its kind on Wearable Tech and Smart Garments. I spoke about wearable technology being Technological Doping in Olympic sport.

The Balmy Beach Canoe Club is a not-for-profit community sport organization serving the east end of Toronto since 1905. They specialize in paddle sports (canoe, kayak, dragonboat, SUP, surfski) and have programs for every age and ability. They are the premier club for para sport in the country and are well known in the community for the children's programming.I developed, implemented and evaluated youth programs for the Balmy Beach Canoe Club to ensure that programs aligned with organizational objectives. I led the recruitment, training and employee management for the youth programs contributing to high retention rates and program growth. All of my programs are designed to follow the Long Term Athlete Development plan created by the Coaches Association of Canada and sport specialized by CanoeKayak Canada. I increased the retention rate of the program, as well as, almost doubling the enrollment during my time as Youth Program Director. I recruited and managed 6 coaching staff, 70 children, and a $45,000 budget. In conjunction with this main program I helped create and implement Para-Athlete and Coach-In-Training programs. Some of the participants that came through the program during my tenor have gone on to become members of Team Canada as well as coaches and coordinators of the programs at the Balmy Beach Canoe Club.
