New Product Development design lead for the next generation of brewer technology

- Engineering project leader for the Essence of Life program. Designing manual and solar powered irrigation technology for rural farmers in developing nations.- Successfully completed the development, design and testing of a human powered irrigation diaphragm pump that is priced appropriately for the target markets while maintaining quality, durability and a product life of over five years. Managed project from inception through product launch, involved in all aspects including design, field testing and writing user product manual.- Traveled to rural villages outside five major cities in India to gather feedback, data and design improvements from over thirty voice of customer (VoC) early field units.- Invented and prototyped a portable, solar-powered submersible water pump.- Lead innovation brainstorming sessions with over forty participants to generate creative ideas on key projects.

- Key member of an integrated team of systems and component engineers working with Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) materials, the latest high-pressure turbine technology, on the new GE commercial engines LEAPx and TECHx.

- Team leader; prioritized workload and resources for team of 10 engineers, analysts and drafters.- Managed a $3.5M engineering budget through the earned value management (EVM) system.- Using original, patent-pending design, created the GE38 gas generator turbine shroud support, an important high-pressure turbine component that has a key role in the performance of the engine.- Designed the combustor case, a pressure vessel and major structural component, in the hot section of the GE38 turboshaft engine.- Implemented two cost reduction projects; saving over $235k for the GE38 development program.- Ensured that the development of GE38 parts would be on time, and within budget, by generating and transmitting numerous coordination memos to vendors.- Traveled to, and worked on-site with, multiple vendors to coordinate the manufacturing of the turbine shroud support, building and optimizing their development/production processes.

- Developed the GEnx high-pressure compressor extension case within a very aggressive schedule and completed successful concept, preliminary and detail design reviews.- Directed a team of engineers and drafters on all projects to support Finite Element Analysis (FEA), manufacturing and material engineering.- Managed a cost reduction project that eliminated a complicated weld on the GEnx extension case. The project resulted in a savings of $3,500 per extension case.

- Responsible for all structural hardware in the cold section of every model of the CF34-8, a small commercial turbo fan engine.- Mentored two engineers; provided technical and Six Sigma guidance during their Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) rotation.- Received a Supply Chain significant achievement award for a project which saved the program $3,230/part by replacing 16 titanium vanes with aluminum vanes on the CF34-8 Fan OGV Frame.- Responsibilities included coordinating with various senior engineers on project-based analysis and design assignments. Managed a diverse workload while meeting simultaneous deadlines.

- Employed as a mechanical engineer in the production department of a multi-national defense and aerospace contractor. Responsible for the design, selection and integration of mounting hardware, cables and connectors for an overall rack enclosure containing electronic satellite communications.

- Completed a three-month design engineering internship in the Nacelle Aerodynamics Group of a major producer of commercial, defense and general aviation aircraft engines.

- Completed a challenging and fast-paced nine-month co-op in a large, high volume turbine airfoils center. Main responsibilities included plant troubleshooting, project tracking, and process development. Refined the process to vapor coat high-pressure turbine blades.
